Geriatrics Unit
The goal of Geriatrics is to restore health and maintain or improve the degree of physical and mental independence to limit functional deterioration, a fundamental determinant of quality of life and the main predictor of dependence, mortality, institutionalization and consumption of health and social resources in the elderly.
The Geriatrics Unit includes the following services:
- The Geriatrics Consultation;
- Integrated Care for the Geriatric Patient, which aims at the coordinated management of chronic illness;
- Home care as an alternative to conventional internment.
